As a player Jenn was a setter and an outside hitter. She received 2nd team all district twice, 1st team all district twice, all county twice, all state twice, and all star once. She is very accomplished in this sport and wants to take players from whatever level they are at now and step them up to higher and higher levels. To accomplish this, the girls are pushed hard and mediocrity is never accepted. The foundation of our effort is on respect. Coach Jenn always respects and cares about each and every girl that steps on the court. It is expected that our players will respect other players, the coaches, and the game of volleyball.

Head Coach - 17 Royal
I always liked sports and played everything at first, but volleyball quickly became my favorite. Before I knew it I was playing middle front, setter, defensive specialist, right side, pretty much everything and I didn't care what I was asked to do. I just wanted to play and I worked hard for it. I want the players I coach to learn how rewarding it is to work for something and see yourself do things you thought you couldn't. Coach Katelynn graduated from Willis HS, where she played volleyball all 4 years. She was DS/Utility player for Willis her senior year. She joined the AVB family her freshman year of high school and played until she graduated. She received several offers to continue her volleyball career(Pasco Hernandez State College in Tampa, FL was one of them) but ultimately ended up at SHSU majoring in Animal Science.
Marissa Thomas has been coaching for three years and has been playing volleyball since 2010 and played at AVB throughout high school. She was a setter and a DS for her club and school team. She continued her volleyball career and played at San Diego City College. Where her team made it to state and got 5th in the state of California. She had learned a lot over her years of playing and tends to take the things she learned and help other athletes. Marissa is very passionate about volleyball and loves spending all her extra time coaching and being with the girls. Her goal is for athletes to work on reaching their full potential and working on getting better day after day.
