Coach McLain
Co-Director & Head Coach - 13 White
Hello and welcome to my amazing journey! I am Shereka McLain and I have trained, played, or coached in the volleyball world for as long as I can remember. I have over 20+ years of experience and enjoy developing mentally dominating players. I pride myself on building well rounded young ladies on and off the court. I choose to use volleyball as the tool to reach and teach strong foundations of life. I was blessed to start Francis Marie Thomas VB Association in honor and memory of my extraordinary Mother, who I unexpectedly lost to Pancreatic Cancer in 2012; thus, the reason we proudly wear Purple. God has blessed me to help nearly 50 girls to receive scholarships to continue to play in college and although a huge accomplishment, I have so much more to give to our future. I am excited about this new adventure and proud to be a part of such an amazing program with the same beliefs and core values for the athletes! Buckle up, because we are just getting started.

Started playing volleyball in 2010 and immediately fell in love with the sport. I played at AVB all through high school. I went on to play collegiate volleyball at San Diego City College in California. My team made it to state, and we placed 5th in the state of California. My position was a setter/DS for club volleyball and college. I also played beach volleyball at the collegiate level I have definitely learned a lot over my years of playing and coaching volleyball. I have always been passionate about volleyball, but I never knew I would be a coach as I continue to learn and grow in this sport. volleyball helped me especially after my dad had passed away it was my outlet. I love spending my tree time doing anything volleyball related. I love watching the players grow not only as athletes but as they become young
adults. volleyball or any team sport for that matter teaches you a lot of lite lessons that you will use at some point in your lifetime. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for playing sports. My goal is to have players work hard and to push them out their comfort zone to be the best player they could be. My career goal is to continue my education of becoming a nurse, coach volleyball, love on my handsome son, Malik and one day marry my fiancé, Josh.

Fell in love with volleyball in 2014 and never looked back! I started at AVB in 2016 and played all throughout high school. I played as a middle hitter in the beginning of my volleyball career, but after an injury quickly transitioned to a Defensive Specialist. My team and I received many achievements throughout my club career. My biggest achievement would be being selected to be on the All-Star team and MVP at AAU Nationals in Florida after receiving 3rd place with my team during my senior year. Furthering my volleyball career, I received a volleyball scholarship at Friends University in 2020. My goals as a coach are to teach the players that hard work does pay off and that you can reach goals that you thought were untouchable.

Been playing volleyball since 2006 and primarily played middle front hitter but also played some right-side hitter. I am an Allegiance Volleyball OG player and one of the newest coaches here at AVB. I tore my ACL my senior year of high school and had to miss my entire club season due to surgery. It was tough but it taught me so much about myself as both a person and an athlete. Due to this injury, I was forced to really pay attention to the other positions and learn them inside and out.
Outside of coaching, I am a Social Media Director for an ad agency, Harper Grayson Communications.
I'm excited to help our young athletes grow as people and athletes through Allegiance Volleyball Club!

Started playing volleyball when I was in 7th grade. I went on to play in high school at Klein Collins as well as club at Allegiance Volleyball. I was a middle hitter, right side hitter, and a setter back row. With every team I was on, I received the team captain title. Through all of this I learned to play a fast tempo offense and learned the value of discipline and leadership. I had opportunities to play at the collegiate level, but I chose to focus on academics. I am currently pursing a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, but my ultimate goal is to receive my MBA. My coaching philosophy is simple: insuring that with every athlete I interact with, I want them to learn the value of hard work and discipline. You can learn almost all of life’s lessons in a team sport. I pray that I am able to impact every life that God calls me to disciple towards.

Been playing volleyball for about 8 years. I began playing for AVB my sophomore year of high school and played until I graduated. I went to Conroe High School where I was a six rotation OH. I started as a DS and transitioned to a pin hitter as I went to high school. Thanks to AVB I received a scholarship to go on and play volleyball in college in Washington. I am excited to see the growth in these athletes and see where we can get them to!

I started playing volleyball 10 years ago and fell in love with the sport! I enjoyed playing with my grandfather in his backyard and joined club when I was 9 years old. I joined Allegiance Volleyball at the age of 11 playing on their developmental team. My volleyball career started off as a defensive specialist, then Coach Jenn saw potential in me becoming a setter. After I set for a few years, I then went back to my original position and continue as a defensive specialist. In all my years of playing volleyball every coach has seen the leader in me and made me team captain. Playing volleyball has taught me more than just hitting a ball over the net. This sport has taught me life skills I use every day and I hope to not only coach your child in the sport but also to coach them in life.
